Selge Ancient City

Selge is an ancient city located on the southern slope of Mount Taurus in modern Antalya Province. According to historical resources, it was founded by the Spartans, Calchas, or Lacedaemon colony. It also takes place in ancient Pisidia and later in the Pamphylia region. The city was fertile, but one could only reach it by bridges, so its population and power rose quickly. Selge gained his liberty during the Hellenistic period, and the city reached its wealthiest times during the Roman period. It takes place in Koprulu Canyon National Park. A theater, an aqueduct, some rubble, and other ruins can be visited today.
