Sheikh Saban-i Veli Mausoleum
Sheikh Saban-i Veli was born in the Taskopru district of Kastamonu province at the end of the 1490s. He had his first Qur'an, Hadith, and Tafsir classes in Kastamonu and finished his education at the Fatih Madrasas in Istanbul. During his education, he was appointed to the posts of sheikh and lecturer at Eyup Mosque. He was the founder of the Shabaniyya branch of the Khalwatiyya order. He was a student of Hayreddin Tokadi of Bolu, an Ottoman Islamic scholar and saint. His mausoleum was built where he spent his last days on earth.
