Sile Lighthouse

Sile Lighthouse is the largest lighthouse in Turkey, built in 1859–1860 by the French Lighthouse Administration. Three wick gas lamps were used as a light source, and the tower height is 19 meters. The device and tower structure are preserved in their original state, and the light is emitted from 8 eye-shaped lenses. The operation of the lighthouse is realized with a pendulum system, set up every two hours with a gear assembly.
