Smyrna
It has been known that the first city was founded by natives in the 11th century BC and rose in the Archaic period. It was located in the Bayrakli district. The second one was founded by Alexander the Great after he saw a dream which told him where to establish the new city. Alexander's Smyrna was raised in the Roman Period. It took place in Kadifekale. The ruins of both cities can be seen in Izmir province, both in Bayrakli and Kadifekale. More about ancient Smyrna can be seen in the Izmir Agora Open Air Museum and in the Izmir Archaeology Museum.
