St. Nicholas Museum

St. Nicholas Museum is situated in Antalya Province, Turkey. It has been known that Saint Nicholas, who was believed to be the guardian of children and sailors, lived and became the Bishop of Myra until he died in 365 AD. He is also known as Santa Claus, who brings children gifts during the late evening hours on Christmas. The church was built on his burial site in the Demre district. On the walls of the church, visitors can see the miracle scenes that are believed to have been performed by St. Nicholas. It has been known that Nicholas’s remains were brought and buried in the Basilica di San Nicola in Italy by Italian sailors from Bari during the Crusades.
