St. Simon Monastery and Samandag
St. Simon Monastery takes place between Antakya (Antioch), Samantha Road, and the Asi River. Its elevation is almost 500 meters, and visitors can reach it through Degirmenbasi Town. It was constructed by partially on the rocks with cut stones in a rectangular pattern. According to legend, Saint Simon received his first religious lesson when he was a child and then settled here. After his name became popular among people, the mount was swarmed with visitors. The monastery was formed in the 6th century AD, and St. Simon lived there for 40 years. It is now on religious tour itineraries.
