Tekirdag Governor's Mansion

The Governor's Mansion in Tekirdag was built in 1913 by Mutasarrif (the governor of an administrative district in the Ottoman era), Selanikli Husnu Bey. The mansion has classical Ottoman and architectural features of its time. Later, governor Hasim Iscan in 1934 and governor Ferit Nomer in 1946 expanded the mansion by adding the back section and the backyard. Mustafa Kemal announced the new Turkish alphabet to the public in this mansion during his second visit to Tekirdag.
