The Chorokh (Coruh) River

The Chorokh River spans 431 km and is home to a variety of species, including Flathead grey mullet and Eurasian carp. There are many levels of canoe and rafting routes along the river. On it, 9 dams have been built, and 6 more will. Due to its great biodiversity, the Caucasus ecological zone is regarded by the World Wide Fund for Nature and Conservation International as a protected region. 104 nationally threatened plants, of which more than half are endemic, have been nominated for protection in this area as a high-priority area.
