The Kackar Mountains

The Kackar Mountains were declared a National Park in 1994. It stretches between Camlihemsin in Rize Province and Yusufeli district in Artvin Province. It has so many peaks that are from 2000 altitude to almost 4000 m and the highest range is the Pontic Mountains section. So many plateaus, numerous mountain lakes, and wildlife on them It is one of the preferred destinations for hiking, camping, mountaineering, and, more recently, heliskiing. In addition, some of the best trekking routes in the country are here. Hundreds of trekkers experience this cold and track glaciers with their equipment between June and September because the natural conditions can be compelling. However, there are easier tracks for amateur athletes.
