Thyatira
Thyatira is an ancient Greek city located in the Manisa province of Turkey. The city was called Pelopia until Seleukos I Nicator named it Thyatira in the 3rd century BC. It was an important settlement for the Lydian and Pergamon kingdoms. Procopius, the Cilician commander, and Valentinian I, heir to the Roman throne, fought here in the 4th century AD, and Procopius lost. The city is one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, which were founded by the Apostle Paul.
