Tire Museum

Tire Musuem was founded in the Yahsi Bey lodge in 1935. The museum was first founded by a group of Halkevi (a kind of community center in Anatolia) students, and in 1946 the ministry of culture converted it into a government museum. In 1971, it moved into its current building. Its collection consists of various statues, tomb steles, marble and terracotta sarcophagi, glass works, and bronze works that date from 3500 BC to 1100 AD. In the ethnography section, visitors can see local, traditional garments, handmade bed covers, napkins, European-originated ceramics used in the Ottoman Period, and Canakkale ceramics.
