Tirebolu Castle

Tirebolu Castle, also called Saint-Jean Castle, is situated on a peninsula in the city center of the Tirebolu district of Giresun Province. According to the historical resources, it was built in the 15th century BC by the Miletus people. The castle is well preserved and has a small chapel called the Church of the Virgin Mary and some Ottoman tombs. Recently, it was restored and opened for visits.
