Titus Tunnel (Cevlik Archaeological Site)

The Titus Tunnel in Hatay Province was built in the first century BC by Roman legions and slave labor under the direction of Roman Emperor Vespasian. It was built to protect the city from the flow. The tunnel, completely carved into the mountain, is 1,380 meters long, 7 meters high, and 6 meters wide. Besikli cave rock tombs are located 100 meters from the tunnel's entrance. It is about 5 km from the Samandagi district and 30 km from the city center.
