Uchisar Castle

It has been known that Uchisar Castle dates back to the Roman and Byzantine periods; however, some recent research revealed that construction may have been carried out between the 4th and 1st centuries. It was used by Christian monks in the middle of the 17th century, and it was used for defensive purposes the rest of the time. The castle seems like a honeycomb, consisting of tunnels and cavities, and the historically featured houses take place on the foothills of the castle. It is one of the highest peaks of Cappadocia, so the best time to visit the castle is at sunset because of its gorgeous landscape.
