Urgup Museum

Urgup Museum is located in Turkey's Nevsehir Province. It opened for visitors in 1971 and houses various sea creature fossils discovered in the Acigol region, as well as archeological and ethnographic artifacts. These are the pieces of evidence that Acigol was an inland sea 230–65 million years ago. Handmade terracotta ceramics, metal, and glass artifacts from the Old Bronze Age, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods can be seen in the archeologic section of the museum, while so many daily tools that were founded around the Urgup district can be seen in the ethnography section.
