Uskudar
Uskudar was a settlement since from ancient ages named as “Chrysopolis” which means “gold city”. Its shores are important accommodation and transportation since from Athenians and it was used as a military base for all the nations who aimed to conquer Istanbul, old city. Since 1352 the site is under Ottoman control.
Around the ’80s and ’90s when Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge was built the district become more popular and fastly grew. However it was a preferred site around the late Ottoman period, the palace, intellectuals, and artists were already having housing around for its magnificent Bosphorus view, in particular from Camlica hill.
