Yoruk Ali Efe Museum

The Yoruk Ali Efe Museum is located in Turkey's Aydin Province. National hero Yoruk Ali Efe led the Malgac Raid, one of the first coordinated civil resistance actions against the Greek forces occupying Turkey during the Turkish Independence War. The raid was one of the first organized civil resistance actions. After the war, Yoruk Ali Efe came back to his house, where he spent the rest of his days. The original house burned down in the 1980s, but it was rebuilt and made open to the public in 2001. Yoruk Ali Efe's possessions, as well as scenes from local life, are on display in the museum.
