Queen Elizabeth National
Park is Uganda’s most visited savannah park, located between Lake George and
Lake Edward along the western rift valley. The Park is famous for its rich
biodiversity including elephants, buffaloes, lions, hippos and over 600 bird species.
Key safari highlights include game drives in the Kasenyi plains and boat
cruises along the Kazinga Channel where animals gather at the water’s edge.
Semuliki National Park lies
in the Albertine Rift Valley near the border with the Democratic Republic of
Congo and is known for its tropical rainforest ecosystem and the spectacular
Sempaya hot springs. The park also hosts unique Central African bird and
primate species.
This 5-day safari combines
wildlife viewing, cultural experiences, geothermal wonders, and relaxing town
nightlife in western Uganda.

Itinerary
Morning: Early
breakfast and departure from Kampala at about 7:00 am.
Drive through the scenic
western Uganda countryside. Stopover
at the Equator line in Kayabwe for photography and a brief demonstration.
Afternoon: Lunch stop in Mbarara City.
Continue via Bushenyi tea
plantations and beautiful crater lake landscapes.
Evening: Arrive at Queen Elizabeth
National Park through the Katunguru gate.
Dinner & Overnight, at a chosen hotel in Kasese
Game drives are among the
best ways to see the park’s abundant wildlife, especially during early morning
or evening hours when animals are active.
Morning Safari Experience: 06:30 – Early morning game drive
in the Kasenyi plains, one of the park’s prime wildlife viewing areas.
Possible sightings include: Lions hunting Uganda kobs, Elephants grazing in the savannah, Buffalo herds, Antelopes and hyenas
The plains are among the
most reliable locations for wildlife viewing in the park.
Return to the lodge for
breakfast and relaxation.
Afternoon
Boat Cruise: 14:00
– Boat safari on the Kazinga Channel.
This famous natural channel
connects Lake Edward and Lake George and hosts one of the highest
concentrations of hippos in Africa. Wildlife commonly seen during the cruise:
Hippos and Nile crocodiles, Buffalo and elephants along the
banks,Water
birds such as pelicans, kingfishers and storks
The boat cruise lasts about
2 hours.
Evening: Sunset views at Mweya Peninsula.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Morning; Breakfast then depart for a
cultural and geological excursion.
Visit Lake Katwe, a historic salt mining lake.
Activities include: Community walk through the salt mining village, learning traditional salt
extraction methods, Meeting local miners and artisans, Cultural interaction with fishing
communities
Afternoon: Transfer to Fort Portal
Drive north through the scenic Rwenzori Mountains region to Fort Portal,
widely known as Uganda’s tourism capital.

Optional Afternoon Activity, Crater Lake exploration, Visit tea plantations, Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves
Evening – Optional Nightlife Experience, Choose between: Fort Portal city nightlife, alternatively nightlife in Kasese

Dinner and overnight in Fort Portal.
After breakfast drive about 1.5 hours to Semuliki National Park.
The Park lies within the Albertine Rift Valley and features dense
rainforest similar to the Congo Basin.
Main Activity: Visit
Sempaya Hot Springs, Explore the famous Sempaya Hot
Springs.
There are two springs: Male hot spring (Bintente) – boiling geyser shooting steam several
meters high. Female hot
spring (Nyasimbi) – culturally significant spring surrounded by forest.
Experiences includes Nature walk through the
rainforest, Demonstration
of boiling eggs or bananas in the hot water, Bird watching and primate sightings, Cultural stories about the
springs
Afternoon: Lunch at Sempaya visitor area. Optional Semuliki forest nature
walk to see birds and monkeys.
Return to Fort Portal in the evening.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Morning: Optional Fort Portal city tour
including: Visit
Tooro Kingdom Palace, Explore local markets, Scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains
Optional stops: Crater lakes viewpoint, Tea estate photography
Afternoon: Lunch in Fort Portal town.
Drive back to Kampala (approx. 5 hours).
Evening: Arrival in Kampala and drop-off
at hotel or residence.
