Itinerary
On your arrival at Entebbe international airport (EBB), you will be met by a Dav safaris staff that will brief you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as you relax from the jet lag and wait for the next day’s country side adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at Acactus Lodge
You will be met by our driver guide at your point of pick up on the safari and you drive westwards towards Fort Portal to the Kibale Forest National Park (about 5 hours). Traveling on both asphalt and unpaved roads, you pass through traditional Ugandan Villages where you see people at work tending their traditional crops of millet, sorghum, beans and maize. The lush rolling hills of this region provide good "photo opportunities". You arrive at Fort Portal for lunch, then continue towards Kibale Forest, one of the great African rainforest research reserves. This forest is famed for the variety of primates found here and it is a terrific area for birds. You make take a walk around the lodge or just relax from the long journey as you wait for dinner and overnight stay at Rwetera Safari Park.
Assemble at the park headquarters for briefing and then go for the most popular activity in this park which is Chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are man’s closet cousins though they are one of the most threatened primate’s species. More primates like Black and white Columbus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheeckedMangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee eater and mammals like Elephants can be seen in this trek. Have lunch and relax for some time. Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will view wild animals en route as you transfer to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Alberine Safari Lodge
After breakfast, you will go for a game drive most likely to Kasenyi plain which is a famous ground for Lions, African Elephants, and Spotted Hyena and many antelope species including Uganda Kobs. Return to the lodge for lunch or have packed lunch and in the afternoon, have a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel. This water body is known for being a catchment for Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, African Elephants, Cape Buffalos and many water birds including Great White Pelicans and Great Cormorant. Transfer through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi, this area is known for its tree-climbing lions.
In Ishasha we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah
area with Topis, African Elephants and to hopefully get the Tree climbing Lions
high in the fig tree branches. Continue the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable
National Park. Here you will experience a change in the landscape from flat
savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle covered mountains. Dinner and overnight
at Buhoma community lodge
For tracking we shall have early breakfast, with our packed lunch and then assemble at the park headquarters for briefing about this breath taking activity. Time spent tracking depends on where the Gorillas spent the night and their feeding range or encounter with other groups which might be wild forcing them to move from place to place, so be prepared for fantastic trek. Once found you spend an hour with them, seeing these gentle giants interact is awesome and the marvelous wildlife encounter on the African continent and an unforgettable. After having an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Lake Mburo national park. This park is famous for Zebras, Impalas, Giraffes, Topis, Elands, Cape Buffalos and many tropical bird species., checkout of the hotel and transfer to Entebbe international airport to readily catch your flight back home in the evening as you say farewell to the pearl of Africa!! But along the way, you will make a stopover at the Equator line to have a an authentic feel of standing at Latitude .
