Itinerary
Start the safari with transfer to Kibale Forest National Park in the morning with the target to have lunch in Fort portal area near Kibale Forest national park. You can have Punctuated stopovers in the far country side that offer us chances of viewing tea plantations along the drive as we check in late evening. Have a night in a beautiful area close to a crater lakes bordering Kibale Forest. Dinner and overnight at Isunga Safari Lodge.
Assemble at the park headquarters for briefing and then go for the most popular activity in this park which is Chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are man’s closet cousins though they are one of the most threatened primate’s species. More primates like Black and white Columbus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheeckedMangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee eater and mammals like Elephants can be seen in this trek. Have lunch and relax for some time. Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will view wild animals en route as you transfer to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages
Have your health breakfast and then embark on a game drivein Queen Elizabeth national park and later a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. You will be treated to an awesome sight of elephant herds, buffaloes, antelopes, and thousands of birds. Not forgetting that the channel has the highest concentration of hippos in Uganda. This short channel of water is a wall-hanging of nature. The slow boat ride from Mweya into Lake Edward and George is an experience that many who have been there, would like to repeat. This boat launch has been in existence since 1952, and is quite popular with visitors to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages
Transfer through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi, and this area is known for its tree-climbing lions.
In Ishasha we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with Topis and African Elephants plus to hopefully have a chance to see tree climbing Lions high in the fig tree branches. You will have lunch in Ishasha and continue with the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will experience a change in the landscape from flat savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle covered mountains. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp.
After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start the trekking – the activity can last up to 4 hours trek or more to find the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence you will have packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures-the mountain Gorillas.Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos.. Later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi where you can participate in various optional activities such as swimming, canoe ride, nature walks, or just have a relaxed evening with stunning views of the Lake and surrounded Islands. After having breakfast, checkout of the hotel and transfer to Entebbe international airport (with lunch en route) to readily catch your flight back home in the evening as you say farewell to the pearl of Africa.
