Zile is a historical town in Tokat on the Black Sea coast of Turkey. It is surrounded by Turhal, Artova, Kadisehri, and Yozgat. It is one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia. It has been known that Zile is the place where Roman general and statesman Julius Caesar said the statement 'Veni, vidi, vici', which means 'I came, I saw, I conquered.' The Zile castle, Bronze Age Hittite archaeological site Masat Mound, and Sheikh Nusreddin Tomb are visiting sites in the town, and fresh, locally roasted chickpeas can be found in the bazaar.
