Yildiz Palace Tours

Yildiz Palace was built for Mihrisah Sultan by his son Sultan Selim III where was used as a hunting territory before by Suleiman The Magnificent. As usual Balyan family and Italian architect Raimondo D'Aranco designed it as reflecting the Baroque, Art Nouveau, and Neo-Classical styles. During the Tanzimat period (A political period) the palace was the center of state administration that overshadow Bab-i Ali (a kind of council of ministers). In 1909 31 Mart Vakasi (a revolt against the state) rebels have attacked the palace and plundered.

The palace is reflecting the late period architectural features and is a witness of the most politically tough times for Ottomans.
