Jalal-Abad, located in the southwestern region of Kyrgyzstan, serves as both the administrative and economic hub of the Jalal-Abad Region. Covering an area of 88 square kilometers, the city is situated at the northeastern end of the Fergana valley, along the Kögart river valley and nestled in the foothills of the Babash Ata mountains, close to the border with Uzbekistan.

The city is renowned for its mineral springs, which are scattered throughout its surroundings. In particular, the water from the nearby Job spa, also known as Ayyūb, has long been believed to have healing properties for leprosy.
