After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a day excursion to the Indus Valley, visiting its monasteries and palaces. Today’s tour includes the Shey Palace, the summer palace of the erstwhile Maharajas of Ladakh; Thiksey Monastery, home to a 100-ft tall statue of Maitreya Buddha; and Hemis Monastery, the largest monastery in Ladakh. After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Nubra Valley, crossing Khardung La Pass, the world’s highest motorable pass. On arrival in Nubra, check in to your pre-booked camp for overnight stay. After refreshing yourself, set out to explore Nubra Valley, including Hunder Village and Diskit Monastery. Enjoy a double-humped camel safari on the sand dunes, located between India and Tibet. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities.

In the morning, visit Diskit Monastery before breakfast to attend the morning prayers with the monks. Return to your camp for breakfast and enjoy some leisure time. After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Pangong Lake, crossing Chang La Pass at 17,500 ft. En route, enjoy short visits to Durbuk and Tangtse Village in the Changthang region of Ladakh. After refreshing yourself, visit the world’s highest saltwater lake, which is shared between India and China, and spend some quality time on its scenic banks. After breakfast at the camp, check out and drive to Tso Moriri, the “hidden gem of Leh Ladakh,” passing through Chushul, Mahe Bridge, and Tsaga Village. En route, enjoy a short visit to Chumathang Hot Springs. On arrival at Tso Moriri, check in to your pre-booked camp for overnight stay. After refreshing yourself, visit Tso Moriri Lake (28 km long and about 8 km wide), a breeding ground for many migratory birds, including the rare bar-headed geese. After breakfast at the camp, check out and drive back to Leh. En route, visit Tso Kar Lake, the monastery at Thukje Village, and halt at Puga Geo-Thermal Gas Springs. You will also have the opportunity to visit the nomadic Rebo tents at Polo Kongka Pass and explore the wetland area around Tso Kar Lake. After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive towards Alchi, with en-route visits to the Hall of Fame Museum, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, and Spituk Monastery. Also visit the impressive Maitreya Buddha statue at Likir Monastery. Continue the drive to Uleytokpo. On arrival, check in to your pre-booked hotel for overnight stay.
