Demre is a town in Antalya Province and one of the Christian pilgrims' regions in Anatolia because of the tomb of Saint Nicholas. It was one of the most important Lycian cities in the ancient period. The city’s former name was Myra, and it has been known that it was founded in the 5th century BC. During the Byzantine reign, it was one of the episcopal centers where St Nicholas IV was the Bishop. St. Nicholas Church, Myra, an ancient city, the Lycian Civilizations Museum, Kekova Island, and Tasdibi Beach are some of the region’s visiting sites.
