Tour Overview
This is a 7-day trek that offers some of the best Himalayan mountain views in Nepal. Its proximity to Pokhara and the array of peaks that appear right before your eyes from your viewpoints at Ghorepani (2874m) and Poon Hill (3210m) make this a dream come true for photographers. You will have panoramic views of the distinctive Mt. Dhaulagiri (world’s 7th highest at 8167m) and Annapurna 1 (world’s 10th highest at 8091m). Their sheer size and beauty is mind-boggling.
In just 7 days you will get to see an amazing amount of natural beauty. A vibrant display of white, pink, and red blossoms in the rhododendron forests, swift-flowing rivers, suspension bridges, enchanting Buddhist temples, and amazing ethnically rich villages on the edge of hills, wildlife, and sub-tropical valleys lodged between the Annapurna and Machapuchare (fish tail) ranges offer constantly changing views.
An early morning (in the dark) short trek to Poon Hill (3210m) will allow you to capture the sunrise and watch the changing reflection of light on the mountains. Similarly, sunset also offers incredible views of Hiunchuli, beyond Annapurna South to Annapurna I (8,091m/26,566ft) Gangapurna, Khangsar Kang (7485m), Annapurna III (7555m) and Machapuchare (6993m).
This jam-packed adventure begins with a road trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara and on to Ulleri where we begin our trek with the Modi Khola (river) below us and terraced rice fields above. Next is Ghorepani with more mountain views. The following day we follow the trail along the banks of the Modi Khola to Poon Hill, Tadapani and then to the Gurung town of Ghandruk (2050m). The final leg of our trek heads through Nayapul and ends as we drive back to Pokhara.
Sherpa Expedtion Teams will take care of all permits, meals and accommodation on the trek. Just be sure to have your camera fully charged!
