This drive is almost 7 to 9 hours long. The elevation gained on this day will be about 103 meters.

  • This might be the second day of your official trip but it is the first day of your trek by foot. On this day, you will have an elevation gain of around 735 meters.

This day, you will ascend to Gatlang from Syabrubesi. This will not be a difficult climb but rather a gentle one. While trekking, you will have to pass through terraced fields of locals where they will have planted their local and seasonal crops such as rice, maize and millet.

As you go further deep into the trail, you will pass through lush and rich forests adorned by rhododendrons and oaks. This is the part where you will immerse yourself in and enjoy the natural flora and fauna of the beautiful Langtang region.

Gatlang is a historic and renowned village for its Tamang community majority. It has such distinct and beautiful customs and traditions that you will be left awe - struck.

The clustered yet beautiful architecture of the houses and monasteries will be stuck in your memories forever. They are built with stones and wood that are intricately designed.

  • Today, you are in for a treat as your journey takes you from Gatlang to Tatopani, a place where you can unwind and relax in natural hot springs. The trail leading to Tatopani is a mesmerizing one, as you will be walking through the enchanting Langtang valley. The valley is home to lush rhododendron forests, which add to the serene atmosphere, especially during spring when bright and colorful flowers bloom.

As you walk along the trail, you will be surrounded by nature's beauty, including chirping birds, tall trees, and sparkling streams. You might even spot some wildlife along the way, such as monkeys or deer. The Langtang valley is truly a sight to behold, and you are sure to feel refreshed and invigorated by the clean mountain air.

Once you arrive in Tatopani, you can take a dip in the natural hot springs, which are known for their soothing and healing properties. These hot springs have been used for centuries by locals to help with sore muscles and joint pain. The warm water will help your body relax and unwind after a day of walking. You can also take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains while you soak in the hot springs.

The climb for the day is not very steep, only about 142 meters. So, you can take your time and enjoy the scenery along the way. In Tatopani, you can also explore the local culture and cuisine. The village is home to friendly locals who are always happy to share their way of life with visitors.

Overall, your trip from Gatlang to Tatopani is sure to be a memorable one, filled with natural beauty, relaxation, and cultural experiences.

The journey from Tatopani to Thuman is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayas. The snow-peaked mountains provide a stunning backdrop to the landscape, making it a sight to behold. The climb is not very steep, only about 20 meters, but it offers a unique opportunity to appreciate the Tamang culture of Thuman.

As we reach the top, we are greeted with a warm welcome and an opportunity to explore the ancient traditions that have been passed down for centuries. The monasteries in Thuman provide a glimpse into the Tamang way of life, from their traditional practices to the art and architecture that have withstood the test of time.

Thuman's Tamang culture is a fascinating blend of Hinduism and Buddhism, with a rich history that is still evident in their way of life today. The people of Thuman are proud of their heritage and are always happy to share it with visitors.

Whether you are an adventurer seeking a challenging climb or a cultural enthusiast interested in learning about the Tamang way of life, Thuman is the perfect destination. The beauty of the Langtang Himalayas combined with the warmth of the Tamang people make it a truly unforgettable experience.

When you explore further into the Langtang area, the hike from Thuman to Briddim is an enjoyable mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences. You can see charming Tamang villages, diverse nature, and other interesting things about the locals' daily life.

You will wake up in Thuman, a lovely Tamang village that highlights the region's rich culture. As you climb up, you will gain about 465 meters of altitude gradually. While you're walking, you'll see some breathtaking terraced fields where the farmers grow crops seasonally. This shows how farming supports the mountain communities. You'll see the hardworking Tamang women working on their fields while the men take care of the livestock. It's a glimpse into their daily life and how much they are attached to their land.

As part of this hike, you'll have a chance to learn about another unusual Tamang culture. Don't hesitate to visit nearby monasteries or meet with the friendly locals of the village. They're willing to share their traditions and culture with you for an authentic cultural experience.

As you move towards Briddim, the view changes from terrace farming to rhododendron forests.

Finally, Briddim is a beautiful Tamang village with unique rock houses and gorgeous wooden windows. It's a culturally rich village with homestays that offer an authentic cultural experience.

Here, you come to the end of your journey. You climb from Briddim to Syabrubesi with great pleasure of having enjoyed everything in the past several days.

The story of life in Briddim Tamang village is fascinating. It is a beautiful village that has stone-built houses. In descending, your Tamang host would leave unforgettable memories with you that would be accompanied by breakfast before bidding you farewell to Sybrbusi. By this time, you will have gone down by 726m in the descent phase. Leaving those high reaches, you march over a luxuriant chain of Rhododendron woods; onwards a path goes round the feet of those hills from where you glance at them as in a looking glass held by the hand of nature.

Trekking from Briddim to Syabrubesi involves reflection. Reflection can occur as one walks through the forest path, contemplating some breathtaking mountain vista, exhilarating encounters with cultural heritage in Tamang village, or cozy, warm community living. There was a time to enjoy the privilege of the original Himalayan scene.

You would traverse natural habitats untouched by humans and witness various animals, perhaps with different colored birds.

This is your official end of the Tamang Heritage Trek. You will have to leave the Langtang area today and return to the vibrant Kathmandu. You will have the same 7 to 9 hours drive that you had on Day 1, just backwards.

Hope you enjoy your Tamang Heritage Trek ! Be a responsible tourist and help to conserve the local area.
