Itinerary
Gather at the Kathmandu Hotel and take a taxi to the tourist bus park, where you will board a deluxe bus for a scenic ride to Dumre, which lasts approximately 4 to 5 hours. After arriving in Dumre, you will transfer to another vehicle for a one-hour journey to Besishahar. From Besishahar, continue your adventure by traveling to Dharapani in a jeep along the classic Annapurna Circuit Trek, a trip that takes around 3 to 4 hours. Upon reaching Dharapani, check in at the Kingfisher Hotel and enjoy your first night in this charming Gurung village.
On the second day of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, you will embark on your journey on foot alongside our experienced guide and supportive porter. The trek begins with a one-hour hike to Bagechhap (2160m), followed by a continuation to Danaque and then to Timang, which involves a 500m ascent through lush forests, offering breathtaking views of the river and waterfalls. After a brief pause for lunch at the Evergreen Hotel in Syarkyu Village, you will resume your trek towards Koto (2640m), traversing through a picturesque pine forest. This area serves as a junction for both the Annapurna Circuit trek route and the Nar Phu Valley Trek. Upon checking in at the Annapurna Conservation Check Post, you will walk alongside the Marsyangdi River to reach Chame (2710m). Chame, the administrative center of the Manang District, features amenities such as a hospital, an internet café, a trekking gear shop, and a bank. You will spend your second night at the Four Season Hotel.
Today, our 10-day Annapurna Circuit Trek continues along the Annapurna Classical Trail, moving from Chame to Upper Pisang. During this segment, you will cover approximately 14 kilometers, which typically takes around 5 to 6 hours at a moderate pace. The trail winds through a steep and narrow valley, eventually crossing back to the south bank of the Marsyangdi River. On a clear day, you will be rewarded with your first view of the impressive Paungda Danda rock face, a remarkable example of glacial erosion. The route gradually leads you past Telekhu and Bhratang, where you can enjoy a break at a beautiful apple farm, that offers tea, coffee, and apple-based beverages such as wine, cider, and juice. After leaving Bhratang, you will follow the Marsyangdi River along the cliffs and through the jungle, ascending to Dhukuri Pokhari after crossing the suspension bridge over the river, where we will pause for lunch. Following lunch, the trek continues through the picturesque valley, crossing the Marsyangdi River again and taking the upper Pisang route. This area is known for its scenic beauty, providing views of lower Pisang, its monastery, and several majestic peaks, including Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Chuli Far East, Chuli East, Pisang Peak, and Tilicho Peak. You will spend the night at the comfortable Mandap Guest House.
After breakfast today, we will embark on a journey from Pisang to Manang Village, covering approximately 20 kilometers along the picturesque and less-traveled route through Ghyaru and Ngawal. This trek takes us through the upper region of the Manang district, which is shielded from the full impact of the monsoon by the Annapurna Range. From upper Pisang, there are two paths available: one to the north and one to the south of the Marsyangdi River, both of which converge again at Mungji. The southern route, which passes through the road and airstrip at Hongde (3420m), requires a descent to lower Pisang and involves significantly less elevation gain compared to the northern route. However, the views of the mountains along the upper trail via Ghyaru and Ngawal (3660m) are far superior, and this trek will assist in your acclimatization. We will start from Pisang, passing through Green Lake and continuing to Maini Wall before crossing the suspension bridge. After more than an hour of ascent, we will reach the ancient village of Ghyaru, where we can take a break for tea or coffee while enjoying the monasteries and stunning mountain vistas. We will then continue our trek along a gradual path to Ngawal, where we will stop for lunch. Following lunch, we will descend to Mungji (3500m) village, surrounded by pine forests. Our trek will then take us to Bragha (3470m), known for its historical monastery, gompa, and Buddha Park. Finally, we will take a short trek to Manang, where we will stay for two nights.
Manang is a stunning village that provides numerous hiking trails and alternative routes to day exploration, which are ideal for acclimatization to the increasing elevation. After breakfast today, we will embark on a visit to Gangapurna Lake and then hike to a viewpoint at 4200 meters, which will take approximately four hours. Following this, we will return to the hotel for lunch. After a brief rest, we will take a memorable excursion to Braga to explore the historical monasteries and gompas. If you wish to visit Ice Lake, please remember to pack a lunch, as it involves a longer hike. We will spend the night in Manang and prepare for the ascent to Thorong La Pass at 5416 meters.
Today’s trek is one of the shortest, taking approximately 3 to 4 hours to reach Yak Kahrka (4033m) from Manang via a gradual trail. This segment features a landscape with less greenery, although if you travel between June and August, you will be greeted by vibrant flowers. In contrast, the other months present a more arid and challenging environment. The path ascends steadily through Tengi and Gunsang, departing from the Marsyangi Valley and progressing along the Jarsang Khola Valley. After a 2-hour trek from Gunsang through the serene Himalayan landscape, we will arrive at Yak Kharka (4033m), where we will pause for lunch and spend the night. Following lunch, we will hike to Chuli Base Camp to better prepare for the upcoming segment and elevation gain.
After breakfast, prepare for the trek to either Thorong Phedi (4450m) or High Camp (4850m). The trail is relatively easy, but the elevation gain and reduced oxygen levels may lead to some fatigue. You will trek through the moraine, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, within the narrow avalanche valley. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) can affect anyone in this area; therefore, it is essential to stay hydrated, consume sufficient food, and maintain a stress-free mindset. You will cross several suspension bridges, pass Letder, and navigate the Tilicho Lake Trail before crossing the river to reach Phedi, where you will stop for lunch. If you wish to continue to High Camp, you can hike for an additional hour, which will be beneficial for the following day.
Begin your day around 5:00 AM with breakfast before embarking on the significant trek to Thorong La, traversing the moraine and stunning mountain valleys. You can choose to start your journey from either Thorong Phedi, located at the base of Thorong La, or from High Camp. After approximately one hour of hiking, you will arrive at the first tea house, followed by another tea house after an additional hour. Continuing for another hour will lead you to the summit of Thorong La at 5,416 meters. Upon reaching this pinnacle, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, marking a momentous achievement in your journey. After capturing this unforgettable experience, you will descend towards Muktinath, navigating the arid Tibetan plateau with red cliffs and glistening snow-capped peaks. Following lunch at Phedi, you will walk for one hour to Muktinath, where you can explore the temple and surrounding monuments while enjoying the picturesque arid landscape and cliffs. Finally, you will take a one-hour drive to Jomsom.
Today, rise early to enjoy a warm breakfast before heading to the airport for your flight to Pokhara. The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes and offers breathtaking views of the world's two highest peaks, stunning mountain ranges, deep gorges, and lush green valleys. Upon arrival at Pokhara Airport, we will escort you to your hotel for a farewell lunch together, marking the conclusion of the rapid Annapurna Circuit Trek.
