french to englishThis yellow sandstone massif, located in the center-west of the island, is made up of high plateaus still partly covered by forest or shrub/herbaceous vegetation typical of the dry environments of western Madagascar . Very significant erosion has carved these plateaus with deep canyons, which contain humid vegetation similar to that of the evergreen forests of eastern Madagascar. However, life has developed in these valleys which are several hundred meters deep, in total autarky for millions of years: there are indeed all the possible ecological niches.These biotopes, isolated and exempt from any human observation, allowed groups of ancestral animals and plants to differentiate themselves, to the point of giving birth to new species.

The southern route offers a great variety of landscapes, climates and ethnicities of the big island, which is perfectly suited for a first approach of the Big Island. The trip is punctuated by walking excursions through beautiful national parks and protected areas

The Tsingy de Bemaraha strict nature reserve is a protected area in western Madagascar located in the Malaky region and listed since 1990 on the UNESCO world heritage list.  

This tour in the west of Madagascar takes you to the Tsingy de Bemaraha, a large limestone massif, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990. To get there, you will have to go through the manufacturers of aluminum casseroles in Ambatolampy, the craft workshops and finally a river trip on the Tsiribihina River. During the adventure, you will be able to see the endemic species of Madagascar, swim in a beautiful natural swimming pool without forgetting the party organized by the villagers.

Beautiful landscapes can be discovered on the way to Miandrivazo. A peaceful trip along the Tsiribihina River awaits you. Boat Man accompanies you throughout the 3 days of descent before leaving for Bekopaka. Here is the Tsingy National Park of Bemaraha where we will visit its exceptional architecture with its unique biodiversity. Here you will find lemurs, birds and endemic plants. Then drive to sunset before arriving in Morondava.

A real adventure in the heart of the Manambolo River. Discover the beautiful scenery of the Highlands before heading down the river with smiling villagers. Then, we head to the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, one of the best sites in the World! The area contains different species of lemurs, birds and endemic plants. We continue towards the famous baobab Avenue at sunset before arriving in the town of Morondava.

This tour, which starts from the capital to the far north of the country and crosses the Boeny region, offers the opportunity to discover the main preserved tourist assets of the big island.
