Nha Trang built its reputation on a four-kilometer curve of city beach, but the coastline and islands just offshore hold most of what fills a longer stay.
Islands and Diving Off Hon Mun
Boat trips out to the island cluster typically stop at Hon Mun for snorkeling over one of Vietnam's few marine protected areas, then continue to a floating pontoon for lunch and swimming. Visibility is best from around June through August, before the fall rains stir up the water.
Cham Towers and Mud Baths
Po Nagar, a cluster of red-brick Cham towers dating to the eighth century, stands on a hill above the Cai River and remains an active place of worship. Inland, mineral mud baths at Thap Ba offer a low-key half-day away from the beach.
