Amasya is a Turkish province in the Central Black Sea region, surrounded by the cities of Samsun, Corum, and Tokat. The province is one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia and it has been known that the Hittites, Seleucids, Romans, and Byzantines ruled in the district. Plus, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Pontus for a while. According to Strabo, the name Amasya comes from the Amazon quin Amasis. Boraboy Lake, Amasya Castle, Beyazit II complex, and Sabuncuoglu History of Medicine Museum are the attractions of the city.
