This 18 day Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most famous treks in Nepal. This trek takes you as high as 5416 meters to Thorong La Pass and to the Mustang Valley close to the Tibetan border. This trek offers everything you can wish to see in Nepal, from being surrounded by soaring peaks, deep valleys, barren plateaus, snow-fed rivers and culturally rich villages. There is one peak at 8091 meters and 28 others over 6000 meters. The circuit trek is bordered by the Kali Gandaki Gorge, Marsyangdi River & Pokhara in the south.The Annapurna Circuit Trek opened to trekkers in 1980 and today is heralded as one of the best trekking destinations in the world. The trails will take you through beautiful rhododendron forests in the lower regions of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. In springtime these trees are covered in white, pink and red blossoms. This is an opportunity to step back in time and visit a place where history was made in 1953 by New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay of Nepal as they planned their ascent of the world’s tallest mountain – Mt.Everest (8848m). This 14-day Everest Base Camp trek (EBC-5365m) will take you to the exact place where these two mountaineers camped while planning their assault on Mt. Everest. This trek takes you within the UNESCO and World Heritage-listed Sagamartha National Park. On the trail to EBC you will visit the famed Tengboche Monastery where you can view this gargantuan peak, as well as other 8000 meter mountains such as Lhotse (8516m) and Makalu (8463m). A short hike up to Kala Patthar (5643m), the closest viewpoint of Mt. Everest and other Himalayan peaks, will afford some unforgettable mountain views. At EBC you can also see the enormous Khumbu Glacier as it makes its way down the face of Everest.This trek will take you through deep gorges, lush green forests and across mountains and ridges before you reach EBC. There will time to acclimatize before ascending to these higher elevations. You will also pass through a number of villages in the Khumbu region that will give you a first-hand glimpse of what the villagers have to withstand in order to survive in the rugged Himalayan region, and also how their strong Tibetan Buddhist faith enriches their lives. You will be stunned at the closeness of these snow covered peaks as you make your way to EBC. Looking skyward at these mountains makes you feel small and insignificant. It feels like you can literally reach out and touch them. Four of the world tallest mountains are in this region.Your scenic flight into and out of Lukla will draw attention to the vastness of the Himalayan Mountains. This is a 7-day trek that offers some of the best Himalayan mountain views in Nepal. Its proximity to Pokhara and the array of peaks that appear right before your eyes from your viewpoints at Ghorepani (2874m) and Poon Hill (3210m) make this a dream come true for photographers. You will have panoramic views of the distinctive Mt. Dhaulagiri (world’s 7th highest at 8167m) and Annapurna 1 (world’s 10th highest at 8091m). Their sheer size and beauty is mind-boggling.In just 7 days you will get to see an amazing amount of natural beauty. Next is Ghorepani with more mountain views. This Upper Mustang 16 day trek will take you to the ancient Kingdom of Lo Manthang– a place rich in history and Tibetan culture that only opened to trekking in 1992. This is also Nepal’s equivalent of the American Wild West, a remote, rugged unforgiving arid region on the Tibetan border. This region has preserved its culture over generations and is where most people speak Tibetan dialects. On this trek you will explore many remote valleys jammed between Tibet and the Himalayas. The walled city of Lo-Manthang (3840m) was previously a part of the Tibetan Kingdom of Gungthang until the 1830s. The landscape here is unlike anything seen elsewhere in Nepal. You will have that feeling of being disconnected from the world as you venture into this region.A highlight of the trek is a visit to several recently restored monasteries and also the playful smiles of the shaved-headed children in their distinctive maroon colored robes studying ancient Tibetan Buddhism. Lo-Manthang has four castes, 275 houses, the royal castle, blacksmiths, butchers and millers. If you prefer a less crowded and more peaceful location, then this trek in the isolated Langtang Valley is just the place. The 10 day Langtang Valley trek is within the Langtang National Park, a land of natural untouched beauty that became Nepal’s first Himalayan national park in 1976. This region is inhabited by the Tibetan Buddhist Tamang people and is not far from Kathmandu which cuts back on travel time in order to reach this spectacular region. The mountain views and the warmth of the Tamang villagers make this one of the most pleasant trekking destinations in Nepal. Many homes, businesses and villages were destroyed after the 2015 earthquake and brought to an end their income derived from tourism. The resilience and resolve of these people has now rebuilt their economy with tourists now returning to this striking region.The Langtang National Park is composed of 25% forest, and ranges from subtropical to high alpine terrains, and includes oak, maple, pine, and rhododendron forests. You will see various native animals, such as the Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Tahr, Assam macaque and red pandas on the trail. It is also said to be the home of the Yeti.One of the highlights of this trek is the sacred Hindu Gosainkunda lakes where many pilgrims visit in August of each year. This area is also important to Buddhists who come to visit the renowned Kyanjin Gompa (Buddhist monastery). The trek begins at Syabru Besi Village and then crosses high alpine pastures where Yaks graze and passes through dense forests until arriving at Kyanjin Gompa. A trek up to Kyanjin RI (peak), offers a panoramic 360-degree view of the Himalayan Mountains before you descend through the valley and then return to Kathmandu. Rhododendron and bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls and impressive snow-covered peaks are just some of the various attractions of this trek to the Langtang Valley.
